PURPOSE:To shorten the service interruption time by providing a 1st area and a 2nd area storing a replaced file and using an old file stored in the 1st area to ensure the rise of a system in case the system rise fails with the replaced file which is received from a host device and stored in the 2nd area. CONSTITUTION:A lower level device 2 serves as a processor of a single constitution and contains a file memory 4 and a file memory 3 of a host device 1 stores a replaced file 9 of the device 2. When the rise abnormality occurs after a start operation, an IPL counter 7 is replaced and the rise is carried out again. Then the old file data is read out of an old file storing area 10 of the memory 4 and given to a main memory 5 in case the rise is impossible with the file 9 and the counter 7 is fixed at the constant value. Then the rise is performed with the old file for execution of the system rise. A host device 1 refers to the counter 7 of the device 2 to identify the old or replaced file that has a rise. Thus the service interruption time is shortened.
