PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a teller machine by sending a code indicating the kind of abnormality from a monitoring device, and recognizing it by the teller machine and outputting an answer signal indicating the corresponding abnormality detected by a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When the code which indicates one kind of abnormality to be monitored currently is inputted by the input means 24 of the monitoring device 2, a transmitting means 26 sends the code indicating the kind of the abnormality to the automatic teller machine 1. The recognizing means 18 of the teller machine 1 recognizes the kind of the abnormality from the code and an answering means 19 sends the answer signal indicating the occurrence of the abnormality of the kind detected by the detecting means 15 back to the monitoring device 2. Thus, a telephone set, for example, is used as the monitoring device 2 to reduce the size for space saving and also reduce the cost. |
