PURPOSE:To improve adhesive strength and reliability of retaining and protecting a wiring harness by forming a protection member of a melting material of a higher melting point than that of a sheath by direct injection molting over the sheath formed with a thermoplastic material. CONSTITUTION:A 1st and 2nd protectors 2 and 3 are formed by mating an upper and a lower molds 4 and 5, melting a thermoplastic material of a high Young's modulus at a temperature higher than a melting point of a wire harness 1 sheath and injecting the material into cavities 6 and 7 surrounding the periphery of the wiring harness 1. As a result, the surface of the wiring harness sheath melts with the temperature of the material, and their protectors and the wiring harness sheath adhere well to each other so that the adhesive strength between the protective members and the wiring harness sheath is considerably enhanced. The increased adhesive strength improves the reliability of retaining and protecting the wiring harness. |
