PURPOSE:To expand and display the contents of a document and pattern recorded on ordinary paper on a screen without prearrangement by controlling the transmission and shading of light according to image information concerning respective light shutter elements of a light shutter panel to radiate a light beam. CONSTITUTION:The light shutter panel 17 obtained by arraying the light shutter elements longitudinally and laterally, a shutter driving control means 16 for controlling the light shutter element corresponding to the position of the image in a light transmitting state or a light shading state according to an image signal which arrives from an image signal source 11 and expansion optical system for expanding the light beam which is projected from a light source 4 and passes through the light shutter panel 17 so as to guide to the screen are provided in a titled device. Then the part which passes through the light shutter panel becomes white on the screen and the part which is cut becomes black on the screen to display the arrived image information on the screen. Thus, a convenient projecting device which can display the expanded image on the screen can be obtained without trouble such as previously recording the displayed contents on transparent sheet.
