PURPOSE:To perform the simultaneous correction of arched and trapezoidal raster distortion and misconvergence correction of an in-line type electron gun by providing a horizontal auxiliary deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil generating 4-pole magnetic field component. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal deflection correction coil 6 is provided along the horizontal deflection coil 2 of a deflection yoke 1, and the said coil 6 generates a magnetic field component in the forward direction of electron beam. The said magnetic field component acts on the electron beam so as to generate raster distortions in opposite direction to the arched and trapezoidal distortion respectively to be generated in rasters of a flat cathode-ray tube when the coil 6 is removed, so that the both distortions are compensated with each other. In an in-line type electron gun, the angular width thetaa of the winding on the upper half section 3a of the vertical deflection coil 3 is made larger than the angular width thetab of the winding on the lower half section 3b of the coil 3. Therefore 4-pole magnetic field component can be generated in the vertical magnetic field 16 to correct the misconvergence.
