PURPOSE:To restore a magnetic head automatically to a CSS region at interruption of power by using the linear solenoid interlocking the locking of a spiral spring and the moving lock of a carriage for locking and release. CONSTITUTION:When a current flowing to the linear solenoid 10 is interrupted by interrupting power supply, a part of a pin 12 is attracted by a coil spring 11 to release the lock of the case 3. The case 3 is driven counter clockwise by the elastic energy stored in the spiral spring 5 when the lock is released, restored to the initial position together with an arm 6, locked again at the other end of the cam 2 to suppress the movement of the carriage 15. Thus, the magnetic head is returned to a CCS region (specific region to contact and stop magnetic head) automatically at the interruption of power.
