PURPOSE:To remove plastic tapes easily only at the terminal formations by cooling and hardening the terminal formations of a tape-formed wire. CONSTITUTION:While a train 2 of plural wires is delivered from a roll 1, long plastic tapes 4 are fed to both side surfaces of the wire train 2 from rolls 3, and superposed on it by an adhering device 5 to incorporate them. Then the wire train 6 is passed through a liquid nitrogen bath 7 and the plastic tapes 4 are hardened like a glass. In this case, only necessary parts may be cooled and hardened. After that, on the terminal formations of the wire train 6 which have been made brittle in a glassy form, breaking lines 9 are formed like a marking-off. Then, the tapes 4 are stripped off and removed 10 by a simple cracking or a cutting with knife. After that, a reinforcement tape 14 is attached 15 and the train 6 is cut off 16 in a specific length. By composing in such a way, the manufacture of the tape-formed wire can be mechanized and mass- production be realized.
