PURPOSE:To omit the restarting of a program and to improve the machine debugging efficiency by applying the patch also to a memory simultaneously with the patch applied to a medium. CONSTITUTION:A patch control means 14 decides whether the contents of a file or a segment designated by an input means 16 are already loaded or not into a memory (main memory or main memory space, etc.). If loaded, a memory patch means 15 is started to patch the received data to a memory 12. If not, a program is carried out via a file loaded from a medium 11. Furthermore, the means 14 decides the presence or absence of an output request of a user based on the data input supplied previously. When the output request is confirmed, an output means 17 consisting of a printer, a CRT display, etc., is started for output of the received patch data. Thus the highly efficient debugging is possible.
