PURPOSE:To reduce the operator load when the documents of the same form are produced repetitively by setting previously the document layout information, and inputting the characters and patterns for each item when a document is produced. CONSTITUTION:A document layout information setting part 1 sets previously the document layout information and a document layout information memory part 2 stores the document layout information. When an operator wants to use again the document layout information stored in the part 2, a document editing part 4 edits the characters and patterns supplied from an input part 3 according to the document layout information extracted out of the part 2. Thus the editing operations are decreased and a desired document is produced with high efficiency when a document having a form used repetitively is produced.
