PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a ceramics type superconductive wire or foil easily by filling a ceramics type superconductive substance in a metal container, forging it, then carrying out a section area reduction process, and heat-treating it finally. CONSTITUTION:A ceramics type superconductive substance is filled in a metal container, and forged in a cold, warm, or hot forging. Then a section area reduction process is executed by applying a rolling and a wire drawing processes concurrently or by either process of them. After the reduction process, a heat- treatment is executed to give a superconductive property. Or in the other way, a ceramics type superconductive substance is filled in a metal container which has a gas flowing passage, and the outer side is covered by a metal to form a multi-layer metal container, which is forged in the same manner. Then, after the section reduction process, the outer metal is removed, and heat-treated in the ambiance including oxygen. In this case, between the inner and the outer metal containers, a high polymer organic substance and/or a non-metallic inorganic substance are placed. And the tensile force of the outer metal container is made 30 to 180 kgf/m<2>.
