PURPOSE:To increase performance and to reduce cost by using lead or lead alloy coated with different double-layer polymers as a cell connecting terminal. CONSTITUTION:Lead or elad alloy coated with double layers of different polymers is used as a cell connecting terminal 6. The second layer is widely coated than the first layer with acid-resistant elastomer which prevents electrolyte creepage from a negative electrode 4 and acid-resistant adhesive which prevents electrolyte creepage from a positive electrode 3. Electrolyte creepage from the interface between the coated layer and the connecting terminal 6 is prevented. Since the coating material for the second layer has water repellency, electrolyte connection on the surface of the second layer is also prevented. The cycle performance of a battery is increased and cost is also reduced. |
