摘要 |
PURPOSE:To reduce both weight and diameter by dipping an optical fiber through melted liquid of a superconductive material just after the optical fiber is drawn out of a preform to deposit a specified thickness of the superconductive material on the optical fiber surface and gradually cooling the optical fiber deposited with the superconductive material. CONSTITUTION:The parent material 2 of an optical fiber is fed in succession into the center of a resistance furnace 1 so that the front end of the parent material 2 of the optical fiber is located always within a heater 3. The optical fiber drawn from the front end of the parent material 2 is continuously drawn out of the parent material 2 through a die 5 and via a capstan 6 and a pinch roller 7. Melted liquid 8 of a superconductive material contained in the die 5 placed just after the resistance furnace 1 deposits on the optical fiber 10 as it goes through the die 5. This makes it possible to reduce both weight and diameter of an optical-electrical combination transmission line.
