PURPOSE:To improve dimensional accuracy of a mold especially of a cavity, by a method wherein an elastic body is interposed between a slide piece and a plate, the elastic body is deformed through a mold clamping stroke and the sliding piece is moved in a predetermined direction with this deformation transfer force. CONSTITUTION:At the time of molding of a molded product 20, molds 2, 3, 4 become a closed state by moving in a first direction and they are combined under a clamped state. As an elastic body 17 is pressed by a block 28 and the elastic body 17 is deformed elastically in this clamping process, the elastic body 17 is deformed in a state where it is long and flat in a second direction by making the first direction the major axis within a proportional limit, its deformation transmission force acts upon a pair of slide pieces 11, the slide pieces 11 comes to standstill under a state where the slide pieces 11 are moved toward the center and pressed against a sprue bushing 19. The elastic body 17 is deformed elastically due to stroke of closing directions of the molds 2, 3, 4, a direction of its clamping force is converted and acts upon a pair of the slide pieces 11 as force of closing direction. Consequently, the cavity 21 is controlled precisely so that the cavity 21 becomes the outside diameter of the molded product.
