PURPOSE:To produce a tool for working molten glass whose reaction with molten glass is suppressed by constituting at least its alloy part to be brought into contact with the molten glass of WC contg. specific amt. of Co and specifying the lattice constant of a binder phase in the alloy. CONSTITUTION:In the titled tool, the alloy compsn. of at least the part to be brought into contact with the molten glass is made up of 3-30wt.% Co and the balance WC with inevitable impurities, and the lattice constant of the binder phase (Co phase or gamma-Co phase) in said alloy is regulated to 3.560-3.573Angstrom . The titled tool (a mold, shear plate, etc.,) is produced by using said alloy, by which the reaction and wear do not occur even when the tool is directly brought into contact with high temp. molten glass, and the service life is kept long.
