PURPOSE:To prevent lubricating oil from degradation through the passage of time and temperature rise by affording communication between the discharge side of an oil pump and an oil reserving tank through a relief valve while affording communication between the discharge side of the tank and an oil pan through an oil replenishing device. CONSTITUTION:When an engine 1 is operated, an oil pump 5 interlocked with a crankshaft 4 is operated so that lubricating oil in an oil pan 3 is taken into respective oil paths 6a, 6b to be supplied to a section to be lubricated. And as the rotational frequency of engine 1 is increased and the discharge pressure of lubricating oil exceeds a set value, a relief valve 8 interposed in arelief path 6c is opened. Thus, excessive lubricating oil flows into the oil reserving tank 7 to cool lubricating oil in said tank 7. On the other hand, lubricating oil in the oil pan 3 is decreased. When a replenishing port 9b of an oil replenishing device 9 is exposed above lubricating oil surface, lubricating oil is replenished from the oil reserving tank 7 to the oil pan 3.
