PURPOSE:To improve the bonding strength of a glass fiber, especially an oxynitride glass fiber to a resin and to improve the reinforcing effect of FRP, by adding a titanium-based coupling agent to a sizing liquid for glass fiber. CONSTITUTION:A sizing liquid for glass fiber is produced by using about 0.3-0.8wt.% of a titanium-based coupling agent as an essential component and mixing the agent with other necessary components such as cationic surfactant, ammonium chloride and water. Concrete examples of the titanium-based coupling agent are isopropyltri(N-amidoethyl.aminoethyl)titanate, isopropyl isostearoyl diacryl titanate, etc. Mechanical strength of an FRP can be improved by using a glass fiber, especially oxynitride glass fiber sized with the above sizing liquid for the reinforcement of FRP. |
