PURPOSE:To make an outboard motor small-sized by arranging a speed change gear shaft connecting an input shaft and an output shaft in response to the speed change stage in front of the input and output shafts, forming a through hole at the core of the speed change shaft, and inserting a change rod into this through hole. CONSTITUTION:A through hole to be penetrated by a change rod 19 is provided at the core of a speed change gear shaft 9. The speed change gear shaft 9 can be thereby made small in diameter, on the other hand a space to arrange the change rod 19 is formed in the through hole. An outboard motor 1 with a transmission 3 can be made small-sized by the space where the change rod 19 is arranged. |
