PURPOSE:To enable enhancement of printing quality, prevention of sticking and prevention of contamination or abrasion of a head and prevent blocking from occurring during preservation, by using an ester oligomer having a specified melting point range and a specified molecular weight range as a heat-fusible material, which is a main constituent of a heat-fusible ink composition, and adding a silicone oil to the composition. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording ink sheet comprises a coloring material layer which comprises a coloring agent and/or an inorganic or organic fine powder and a heat-fusible material. In the ink sheet, the heat-fusible material comprises at least 40wt.% of an ester oligomer having a number average molecular weight of 300-10,000 and a melting point range of 40-120 deg.C, and a silicone oil is incorporated in an amount of 0.1-5wt.% based on the total amount of the coloring material layer. The ink sheet has a high transfer sensitivity, so that it is capable of being used for low-energy printing, and is suitable for enhancement of printing speed. Printing quality obtained is favorable, and sticking does not occur. Since there is no adverse effect on a thermal head, a maintenance-free system can be obtained, and blocking does not occur during preservation of the ink sheet. |
