PURPOSE:To obtain an insulating synthetic polymer, having substantially no water permeability and useful for coating electronic parts, by containing magnesium or magnesium oxide as a water trapping agent in a synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:The aimed insulating synthetic polymer obtained by blending preferably 0.5-10wt.% magnesium or magnesium oxide a water trapping agent in a synthetic polymer. The resultant polymer is used to coat electronic parts.
