PURPOSE:To obtain a adhesive powdery polyethylene excellent in adhesion to metal or the like and markedly effective for coating by, for example, fluidized bed coating, comprising a linear low-density polyethylene specified in melt index and density. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive powdery polyethylene comprising a linear low- density polyethylene of a melt index >=5, a density of 0.910-0.925 and, preferably, such a particle diameter as to pass a 30-mesh screen. By using this polyethylene as a base resin, a good paint film excellent in adhesion to metal or the like can be obtained by fluidized bed coating, electrostatic coating or the like.
