PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device, having many hollow fibers covered with a cell entrapping agent housed in a reaction tube with a vent hole and gas discharge hole on a sidewall and both closed ends and openings at both ends of the hollow fibers connected to collection tubes and capable of continuously and efficiently cultivating plant cells in a state of calluses. CONSTITUTION:An incubator for plant cells having many porous hollow fibers 2 covered with a cell entrapping agent 14 (e.g. gelan gum) housed in parallel to a reaction tube 1 with both closed ends therein so as to open both ends of the fibers to the ends of the reaction tube and the openings respectively led to collection tubes at an inlet 8 and outlet 3, vent hole 9 and gas discharge hole 12 provided on the sidewall of the reaction tube is used to fill plant cells and a culture fluid 4 in a culture fluid vessel 6. The plant cells and culture fluid are then fed through pipes 5 consisting of a silicone tube to the reaction tube 1 by a pump 7. Thereby the plant cells covered with the cell entrapping agent 4 are adhered to the outer walls of the hollow fibers and cultivated in a state of callus cells 15 with the culture fluid 4 in the hollow fibers 2.
