The invention relates to a lock including a set 57 of identification strips 7 provided with encoding notches 10, which is mounted in a movable chassis 2 which can slide in the casing 1. Inserting a flat key 3 in the direction of the arrow A aligns the notches 10, which causes the tilting of a feeler 61 which releases the movable chassis 2. Then, by lateral displacement of the key 3 in the direction of the arrow B, the chassis 2 is made to slide and, with it, a movable rod 21 which then emerges from the casing in order to fulfil the function of unlocking the lock. <IMAGE>
