PURPOSE:To alleviate the imbalance in work loading assigned to a specified work station and to perform processings rapidly by a method wherein three steps consisting of a part angle coarse adjustment, a part angle fine adjustment, and a measurement of a part position deviation amount are allotted to three stations to be performed. CONSTITUTION:When a position alignment of a part 1 with a substrate 2 on which the part 1 is to be mounted is performed, first of all, the direction of the part 1 is roughly adjusted through the rotation of a suction axis 92, and next the direction of the part 1 is precisely adjusted by sandwiching it by a direction adjusting pawls 192. When the direction of the part 1 is not necessary to be taken into consideration any more, the amount of the positional deviation of the part 1 is measured so as to obtain a position corrective data for a substrate supporting device 30. Therefore, after the amount of the positional deviation is measured, the suction axis 92 and the part 1 can be transferred intact to a substrate 2 without any additional angle adjustment. By these processes, an operational speed can be increased.
