PURPOSE:To obtain drinking water for preservation food usable simply and safely, by sealing water in a packing container composed of a plastic film and throwing a pack of a preservative, wherein granular coral sand is coated with silver, in said container. CONSTITUTION:Desalted coral sand is activated by heating to be immersed in an aqueous solution of silver and ammonia. After said solution is sufficiently penetrated in the coral sand, glucose is added to the solution as a reducing agent to allow the solution to stand for about 10-20hr to perform the coating of silver. Subsequently, the solution is heated under reduced pressure to be evaporated to dryness and the residue is further dried at about 50-80 deg.C for about 3-5hr to obtain a preservative 4. This preservative is received in a water resistant water-permeable packing container composed of synthetic paper or synthetic fiber to form a pack 5. Keepable food (or beverage) 2 is sealed in one of of the cavities of a packing container 1 composed of a plastic film and water 3 having the pack 5 thrown therein is sealed in the other cavity thereof. By this method, since sterilized water can be always preserved by utilizing the packing container of the preservation food, this system is extremely convenient.
