PURPOSE:To enable recording of character and electrical signal waveforms with the same dot printing element, by providing a microcomputer which stores data such as analog electrical signal and time signal from an electronic timepiece circuit to output the data selectively. CONSTITUTION:As an analog electrical signal 1 reaches a set level with an startup setter 2, a starter 11 outputs a start signal to start a microcomputer 8. Consequently, first on the basis of a program stored into a memory M2 of a ROM 10, a character data is outputted to a RAM 9 from a character memory M3 according to signals of an electronic timepiece circuit 13 and a setter 14 to store. At the same time, a recording paper 6 is conveyed and outputted sequentially to a thermal dot head 5 to record the character data thereon. Then, the electrical signal 1 is converted 3 into digital from analog and a signal data delayed 4 is rearranged to be a data for recording waveforms of electrical signals 1 based on a program stored in the memory M1 and the data is outputted to the head 5 to record a part of the waveform. As the recording paper 6 is conveyed by each pitch, a waveform data is outputted to record a continuous waveform.
