PURPOSE:To enhance weatherability and corrosion resistance by painting a metal base material with paint prepared by compounding a specific amount of transparent iron oxide pigment with polyol composed of a specific fluorine- containing copolymer and a curing agent composed of a polyvalent isocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:A polyol component composed of a fluorine-containing copolymer having a hydroxyl group and a curing agent component composed of a polyvalent isocyanate compound or aminoplast compound are used as main components and transparent iron oxide pigment is compounded with said main components in an amount of 0.01-15pts.wt. per 100pts. of the sum amount of the aforementioned polyol and curing agent components on a solid basis to prepare clear paint. This clear paint is directly applied to a metal base material to form a film having metal gloss. As the metal base material, there are stainless steel, aluminum, copper or brass.
