The invention relates to a device making it possible to house an umbrella, without the risk of soiling it and damaging it, in a motor vehicle without the risks of wetting and dirtying the floor and the seats. It consists of a tube 1 having an orifice 2 via which the umbrella 3 is inserted. The umbrella comes into abutment on a grid 4 placed on a projection 5. The end 6 of the tube consists of a plug 7 pierced by a hole 8 equipped with a pipe 9 serving to drain away the water gathered in the tube. The device according to the invention is intended to be placed beside the door opening and to be integrated into the dashboard of the vehicle.
