The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of enzymatic substrates which can be used on enzyme sensors, in which an enzyme is mixed with a filler protein and this mixture is copolymerised in the presence of a bridging agent, the still fluid mixture is dispersed homogeneously, before solidifying, in a semi-rigid framework which is used as a reinforcement. This process is characterised in that an enzymatic membrane is formed possessing a large surface area and, after hardening, this enzymatic membrane possessing a large surface area is cut up to produce individual enzymatic substrates 3 of the same shape, size and activity characteristics, which are interchangeable and adaptable to the sensitive components 2 or to the enzymatic probes of the enzyme sensors. <IMAGE>
