PURPOSE:To prepare the title phosphor which is excellent in the afterglow property, luminous efficiency, and color purity, by mixing a trivalent europium- activated yttrium oxysulfide with BaF2 and baking the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A trivalent europium-activated yttrium oxysulfide of the formula Y2O2S:Eu is mixed with 0.1-5.0wt.% BaF2, and baked.
