The decontamination is carried out ''in situ'' by spraying a solvent inside the sealed tank. The transformer (1) is fixed to a vibrating table (2). The solvent laden with PCB is collected, distilled and recycled. The orientated vibrations accelerate the streaming and infiltration of the solvent against the internal walls and the active parts. A second phase achieves the decontamination of the coils (12) by injection of solvent inside the coils (12) during a centrifugation operation valid for any type of transformer immersed and electric apparatuses.
