The invention relates to an extension device for telescopic mandrels of round-timber peeling machines. This device comprises an outer mandrel 13 which is provided with an outer claw 14 and has a flat 26 located at a distance from the axis of the mandrel which corresponds to the radius of the claw 9 of the inner mandrel 4 and this mandrel 13 may be stopped in an angular position in which its flat 26 points towards the cutting blade of the peeling machine when the outer mandrel is retracted in the rest position.
