PURPOSE:To realize a brush written character with brush sensitivity or light-and-shade expression by the pressure of a brush by an operator, by attaching a pressure detector which detects the contact pressure of a signal detecting body with a tablet on the signal detecting body, and outputting coordinate data and pressure data as the picture data of a plotted image. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constituted of the tablet 2 which generates a coordinate signal, and the signal detecting body 1 which detects the coordinate signal, and the pressure detector 14 which detects the contact pressure of the tip of the signal detecting body 1 with the plane of the tablet 2 on the signal detecting body 1 of an image data input device which generates the picture data at the tip of the signal detecting body 1 being abutted with the plane of the tablet. And the image plotted on the tablet in the signal detecting body 1 is converted to the picture data consisting of the coordinate data and the pressure data, then, outputted. In other words, when it is desired to express the thick part of the character, strong contact on the tablet is applied by applying pressure on the signal detecting body 1, and the character is written by pressing the plane of the tablet softly on a thin part. In such a way, it is possible to express the image with brush sensitivity by inputting the picture data plotted with brush written sensitivity.
