PURPOSE:To ease the extent of the moire stripe of a reproduced image and to obtain a fine reproduced image by interpolating processing an image signal with an interpolating circuit after a quantizing processing and before a binarization processing. CONSTITUTION:When the analog output of a light detector 10 is once converted to a digital output, after that, a processing to an image signal is executed, it is compared with a reference signal by introducing to a binarization circuit 24 and the exposing time of a light source 28 for an exposure to image-record to a carrier 30 for the image-recording is controlled by the output signal of the binarization circuit 24, a signal before being introduced to the binarization circuit 24 is interpolating processed by an interpolating circuit 22. Thus, at the time of the image-reading of a stripe pattern original near a quantizing pitch, the extent of a moire can be eased and an image signal processing to obtain a reproduced image more faithful to an input signal can be executed.
