The invention relates to a mobile device for checking and calibrating a radioactivity measurement system, in particular for measuring radioactivity in gaseous waste or the atmosphere of nuclear reactor containment buildings. According to the invention, this device comprises: - an irradiation unit 110, comprising a radioactive source inserted into a cavity of the irradiation body which emerges from this body through an irradiation orifice, - means 120-122 for centring and supporting the irradiator on the measurement chamber 1 of the radioactivity measurement system, at a predefined distance and with a predefined orientation of the latter with respect to the irradiation orifice, - means 130 for blocking and unblocking the irradiation orifice. <IMAGE>
