Pressure die casting machine - suitable for high speed casting and automatic deburring of zinc alloys

The machine has a frame carrying two pairs of work cylinders, each pair supporting one die half with a vertical joint line. Each work cylinder has a piston fixed to the frame; and a piston rod is fixed to the piston, the rod extending to a piston in a coaxial work cylinder. By feeding hydraulic fluid into the four double-acting work cylinders, the dies can be opened, or brought together using means for retarding the speed of closure to reduce shock. The temp. of the dies is controlled by adjusting the pressure of water employed to cool the moulds by evapn. a hot chamber injection system is used with immersed electric heaters for the molten metal; and a rotary extractor is used to remove a core before opening the die halves. High speed machine enables automatic extn. of the casting via a transporter leading to a deburring unit.
