The rubbish press comprises a chassis (7) to which an operating lever (27) is coupled by a link (30). The lever actuates the rod (19) of a plunger working inside a dustbin (9) and which passes through the hinging lid (16) of the latter. There can be a guide for the rod in the lid, keeping it in the vertical position.
