PURPOSE:To be subject to no limitation for the place of installation and to enhance safety by preventing the white-smoking of the discharged gas by installing a cooling tower in an air discharge chamber which is formed at the base section of a gas discharge duct to conduct heat exchanging in a turbo refrigerator. CONSTITUTION:A cooling tower 32 is installed in a gas discharge chamber 31 formed at the base section of a gas discharge duct 30. When a coolant which is compressed by the compressor of a turbo refrigerator 3 is transferred to a condenser, the coolant exchanges heat with the water which exchanged heat in the tower 32, and the coolant is liquified. Then the coolant exchanges heat with the cold water from a heat accumulating water reservoir 14 by an evaporator, and the cold water is supplied to an indoor heat exchanger 20 to cool the inside of the compound 1 of a subway station. On the other hand the gas which is used for cooling the compound 1 is discharged by a discharge fan 34 from the duct 30 to the outside. And the fluid from a fan 34 is supplied to the tower 32 and exchanges heat with the water in the tower 32 to produce cold water. Further, the fluid that exchanged heat in the tower 32 is mixed with and diluted by the discharged gas in the compound so that there is no fear that white smoke is generated by the contact with the outdoor air.
