PURPOSE:To raise the filtering velocity and to improve the filtering performance by regulating the introduction of raw liquid to a filter to preferably spread the liquid in an uniform specified thickness to be swiftly sucked through a filter cloth. CONSTITUTION:A raw liquid is entered an influent chamber 4 through a raw liquid supply opening from an influent pipe 31, and, after the collision with side walls, the raw liquid is circulated along the side walls in the influent chamber 4. At this time, the raw liquid flows into a housing 10 through apertures in the bottom wall circulating in the influent chamber 4, and on the other hand, a part of raw liquid flows on foreward through the apertures of the confronting side wall and drops down through the apertures to flow into the housing 10. As a result, the raw liquid uniformly flows to the filter layer 12 of the housing 10 through the apertures in the bottom wall without gushing to the housing 10 because the effect of the inertia with which the raw liquid flows in is eliminated, and is filtered by the filter cloth 27 with a uniform constant thickness.
