PURPOSE:To prevent a spring conductor and a housing member from scattering outward regardless of gas ejection at high temperature and high pressure generated by a dynamic current arc caused by excessively severe thunder surge, by locking a cap member fixed to the housing cylinder of a lightning arrester unit to a spring conductor for press-pushing the lightning arrester unit via a conductor cylinder by means of a locking member. CONSTITUTION:When thunder surge invades a lightning arrester unit laid from a load side fixed electrode 6 to a terminal fitting 55 for grounding wire, the thunder surge is discharged to the ground through the non-linear resisting element 29 of a non-linear resistor unit 24 and a gap unit 23. Hereat, a spring conductor 54 is connected to a cap fitting 52 fixed to a main insulator 1 by means of a locking member, that is a hook 52a so that the spring conductor 54 can not be blown away by ejecting gas when the cap fitting 52 is broken to open due to the gas at high temperature and pressure caused by excessively severe thunder serge etc. Thereby, not only the spring conductor 54 itself but also a conductive cylinder depressed by the spring conductor 54 is held inside a cavity 21a and not scattered outward.
