PURPOSE:To correct a color balance density by controlling an exposure with the reciprocity law failure characteristic of a color photographic sensitive material, the correction exposure time for correcting the fluctuation in the sensitivity of the photosensitive material an the correction exposure time corresponding to the color balance assigned by a user as factors. CONSTITUTION:The exposure is calculated with the reciprocity law failure characteristic of the color photographic sensitive material, the correction exposure time for correcting the fluctuation in the sensitivity of the color photographic sensitive material and the correction exposure time corresponding to the color balance assigned by the user as factors. The exposure time is then so controlled that the color printing expressed by dots is executed even in the exposing region where the reciprocity law holds and/or does not hold according to the resultant correct exposure. The color balance density is thereby corrected.
