In a multiple-member support for underground operation, in particular a support shield, in which the support members consisting of multipiece roof bars and/or a floor bar are connected to one another by swivel joints, the joint pin of which is a bolt which connects bushes of adjacent support members to one another, the joint pins being rotatably mounted in all bushes and being axially secured at both ends, provision is made according to the invention for the bolt of the joint pin to fill a hollow cylinder which is slit in the longitudinal direction. The bushes are rotatable about the hollow cylinder, and the hollow cylinder encloses the bolt with a press fit, the frictional connection of which in the swivel joint can be neutralised after removal of the joint-pin locking means, whereupon the longitudinal slit serves to release the bushes upon the removal of the hollow cylinder.
