A continuous high-pressure filter press for dewatering waste and production sludges includes a multiplicity of vertical clamps (14) parallel to each other, which are rigidly connected together, rotatable about a shared vertical axis (16) of rotation and are open towards the outside. The internal surfaces (28, 30) of the horizontal legs (20, 22) of the clamps (14) form annular opposite pressure surfaces. Each clamp (14) is provided with pressure cylinders (52, 54) which are supported on the upper annular surface (30) and, with intermediate connection of an upper pressure plate (50), act under high pressure on a closed sludge chamber space (48) which itself is supported on the lower annular surface (30). <IMAGE>
