The car radio mounting assembly consists of a box (1) joined to the radio or other electronic unit (2) by an adaptor ring (3) which is shaped (10,11) to match the corresponding profiles of the radio and box and its width ensures a correct fit in the mounting fixture of the car. The box has a boss (7) through which passes the radio fixing bolt (4) to be secured by a nut outside. A multiway plug (23) provides a link between the radio and the car wiring, and housings are provided for a battery (18) and a fuse (20). - Anti-theft audible (29) and mechanical (31) devices engage receptacles (27,32) in the rear of the box. The box, radio, and adaptor form a complete unit when assembled; any attempt at theft is thwarted whilst these devices are set.
