PURPOSE:To enhance an S/N ratio, in its turn, the selectivity Q of the circuits of a receiving system, by forming a detection coil for detecting the magnetic resonance signal induced in a living body from a superconductive material and using the same in a superconductive state. CONSTITUTION:A detection coil 2 made of a semiconductive material is received in a cooling medium container 1 so as to lead out the current leads 2a, 2b thereof to the outside and liquid nitrogen is received therein as a cooling medium for bringing said material to a superconductive state. By this constitution, signal collection capacity can be increased by increasing the number of the coil turns of the detection coil 2. Further, since resistance is zero by making the detection coil 2 of the superconductive material and using the same in a superconductive state, a lowering of selectivity Q is eliminated and a lowering of an S/N ratio is also eliminated and, therefore, the enhancement in detection sensitivity is achieved.
