PURPOSE:To efficiently combine clad slab without developing any rupture at the time of rolling by seal-welding circumferential edges of joining faces by electron beam welding and after that, further arc-welding. CONSTITUTION:A base material 1, in which the joining face is cleaned, and a clad material 2 are put together in a vacuum chamber and after exhausting air in the chamber to the prescribed pressure, the circumferential edges of the joining faces are sealed by the electron beam welding. The base material 1 and the clad material 2, which are seal-welded by the electron beam welding, are taken out from the vacuum chamber to the air, and successively the part on the welded bead part 3 of the electron beam welding is welded by the arc- welding of shielded arc welding or gas shield arc welding, etc. By these bead part 3 of the electron beam welding and bead part 4 of the arc welding, the weld strength to be bearable to shearing force at the time of rolling is obtd. |
