PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound from trans-1,4-dicyanocyclohexane in high concentration under mild reaction condition while retaining the steric configuration, by using reaction of microorganism with trans-1,4- dicyanocyclohexane. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to genus Arthrobacter, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, Chromobacterium, Nocardia, Rhodotorula, Cephalosporium or Fusarium and having ability capable of converting trans-1,4-dicyanocyclohexane to trans-4-cyanocyclohexane-1-carboxylic acid, e.g. Arthrobacter espi A7 (FERM P-8927), cultivation product thereof or bacterium cell treated product thereof is reacted with trans-1,4-dicyanocyclohexane to provide the aimed product. |
