PURPOSE:To enable a warp to be prevented and to easily change a roll width when a steel belt of different width performs its edge trimming, by cutting an edge of the steel belt by a pair of rolls, which can be mounted and removed rotating in a conveying direction while holding the steel belt from its obverse and reverse, and by paired circular blades during conveyance. CONSTITUTION:A device, which rotates two drive gears of both driving gears 11, 11 rotating driven gears 17, 20 and drive hollow shafts 15, 18, rotates rotary shafts 30, 31. Accordingly, while both rolls 1, 2 rotate suppressing a warp of a steel belt 7, circular blades 3-6 cut its edge 8 by rotating the shafts 15, 18. Here the steel belt 7, being held over its total width by the rolls 1, 2, is prevented from generating a warp of the steel belt 7 when trimming of its edge 8 is performed, and both the rolls 1, 2, rotating integrally with the circular blades along an advancing direction, generate no resistance for conveyance. Next, when the steel belt 7 of different width performs its work of trimming, the device, moving both the driving gears 11 in the relatively separating direction, enables a roll piece 1a to be mounted to and removed from end parts of the rotary shafts 30, 31 when right ends of the rotary shafts 30, 31 are removed from the right side hollow shafts 15, 18.
