A device for mounting metal weight 7 on a horse's leg is required, which does not load the lower horse leg joint and is easily exchangeable. This is achieved by use being made of a horse boot 1 known per se, which is a covering sheet 2 with strap closure 4, 5 and supple cushioning 6, the metal weight 7 being mounted on the covering sheet 2. The horse boot is placed above the lower horse leg joint around the fetlock of the horse leg and is exchangeable. <IMAGE>
