摘要 PURPOSE:To easily separate ions having different valency in accordance with the valency only by exerting a magnetic field on a part of a pipeline wherein an electrolyte contg. >=2 kinds of ions flows. CONSTITUTION:When an electrolyte wherein an Fe<2+> ion and an Fe<3+> ion are mixed passes through a pipeline 11 and flows into a pipeline branch connection 10, the electrolyte is formed into a laminar flow with less turbulence by a flow straightening part 15, and the electrolyte enters a magnetic field impressing part 14. A magnetic field is impressed from this side of the figure toward the other side in the impressing part 14, and an upward force is exerted on the respective ions by the magnetic field. In this case, since the magnitude of the force exerted on the Fe<3+> ion is about 1.5 times greater than that on the Fe<2+> ion, the concn. of the Fe<3+> ion is increased at the upper part of the electrolyte after passing through the magnetic field impressing part 14. Accordingly, the electrolyte with the high Fe<3+> ion concn. flows through a pipeline 12, and conversely the electrolyte with high Fe<2+> ion concn. flows through a pipeline 13. Only the electrolyte passing through the pipeline 13 and having a high content of the Fe<2+> ion necessary for charging is supplied to a cell.
