PURPOSE:To smoothly take a document out of a document table without damaging the end of the document by providing a control means for reversely controlling the document in such a way that the document is conveyed in the direction opposite to the carry-in direction. CONSTITUTION:A conveying belt 11b is rotated by the rotation of a driving roller 29. Also, the rotation of a gear 32 is transmitted to a gear 33 via an idle gear 35, and a paper feed roller 6 is rotated by the rotation of the gear 33. Further, the rotation of the gear 32 is also transmitted to a gear 39 via an idle gear 40, the rotation of the gear 39 is transmitted to a driving roller 36 via a one-way clutch, and the rotation of the driving roller 36 rotates a separating belt 11a. And, the document S placed on a document table 5 is conveyed to a separating part 11 by means of the paper feed roller 6.
